This Privacy Policy explains what information We The Loud (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you use wetheloud.com, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. We keep this plain and honest on purpose.

What We Collect

When you use We The Loud, we collect the following:

  • Account information: your username, email address, and password (stored encrypted).
  • Profile information: anything you choose to add, like a bio, avatar, or location. You control this.
  • Purchase and billing information: name, billing address, and payment details processed through Stripe. We do not store your credit card number on our servers. Stripe handles and stores payment data under their own PCI-compliant systems.
  • Content you post: listings, messages, reviews, photos, and forum activity.
  • Usage data: pages visited, clicks, session duration, and device/browser type, collected via Google Analytics.
  • Cookies: used by the website, ecommerce/vendor system, community system, and Google Analytics to keep you logged in, remember cart items, and measure site performance.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Run the platform and process your transactions.
  • Send transactional emails (order confirmations, password resets, moderation notices).
  • Improve the site using aggregated, anonymized analytics data.
  • Investigate reported content or accounts when needed for community safety.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Full stop. We are not in the data business. We are in the community business.

We do not use your data to serve you ads.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services that may process your data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics (site analytics): policies.google.com/privacy

We encourage you to review their policies. We choose services that take data privacy seriously, but we are not responsible for how they handle data collected directly by their platforms.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, maintain your shopping cart, and understand how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will break key features like staying logged in.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Vendor Data

If you operate a vendor shop on We The Loud, buyers will see your shop name, listed products, and any profile information you make public. Shipping and return processes are handled directly between vendors and buyers. We The Loud does not transmit your personal information to buyers beyond what you have made public on your shop profile.

Data Retention

We keep your account data as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal or financial compliance purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold on you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google’s browser opt-out tool.
