We The Loud runs on a community backbone, not a follower count. This page covers how your profile, feed, friends, and moderation tools work. New features roll out every two weeks or, so bookmark this page. We’ll keep it updated as we go. You can also check out Roadmap page as well to see what’s coming down the pipe.
Getting Started
What's the difference between a Member and a Creator?
Every profile on WTL is one of two types. Member is your default. Creator is for anyone who wants to open a shop when the marketplace launches. You can switch between the two anytime from your profile settings. Switching to Creator now doesn't open a store today, it just gets you ready for when stores go live.

What shows up on my profile?
Your activity feed, your friends list, your groups, and (once you're a Creator) your reviews and store. Your profile is your home base on the platform.
Where's my activity feed?
Click Activity in the left sidebar nav (on desktop) or in the main nav on mobile. You can also access it from your profile dropdown menu on the top right of the desktop screen. That's your personal stream plus updates from friends, groups and stores you've joined. Filter it by Everything, Updates, Comments, or Groups using the dropdown at the top. Feeds are always in chronological order and you full control over how you want to filter it.
What are Challenges?
Challenges are short missions that pay out a block of Decibels.
- Solo challenges are yours alone. Example: Mic Check Week. Post five activity updates in seven days and bank 100 bonus Decibels.
- Community challenges are won together. Example: Sell-Out Show. When the whole platform hits its goal, every member who pitched in picks up bonus Decibels and a limited patch that never comes back. When the community wins, you win.
Can I post something other than text?
Yes. Drop a photo or video into your status update the same way you'd write a text post. No separate upload flow.
Friends & Your Circle
Why did I already have a friend when I signed up?
That's me, Joey, the founder. Every new member gets connected to me automatically so your feed isn't empty on day one. It's not a bot, it's not a marketing gimmick, it's just me. Feel free to unfriend me anytime, no hard feelings. Or keep me around and send feedback my way, I read every message. Unlike a certain someone from a certain other platform, I'm not disappearing once this thing takes off.
How do I add other friends?
Head to a member's profile or find them in the Members directory, then click Add Friend. They'll get a notification and can accept or ignore it.
Can I remove a friend?
Yes, anytime. Go to their profile or your friends list and click to end the connection. No notification gets sent when you do this.
Do I have to be friends with someone to message them?
No. Private messaging works independently of friend connections. You can message anyone on the platform.
Sharing Your Posts
Can I share a post outside of WTL?
Yes. Every activity post has a Share option next to Comment and Favorite. Click it and you'll get sharing options for outside platforms like Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and WhatsApp.
Can I share someone else's post to my own profile?
Yes. Sharing a post reposts it to your own feed so your friends see it too, the same way a retweet or repost works elsewhere.
Can I share a post through a private message?
Yes. You can send any activity post directly to another member through Messages instead of posting it publicly.
Can I share a post into a group or space?
Yes, as long as you're a member of that group or space.
Does sharing notify the original poster?
Not automatically today. We're keeping an eye on whether that changes down the line.
Flagging & Moderation
How do I report something inappropriate?
Every activity post, comment, message, profile, and group has a Flag option. Click it and the report goes straight to our moderation queue.
What happens after I flag something?
A real person reviews it. We built WTL on human moderation, not an algorithm quietly shadow-banning people. You'll get a confirmation that your flag was logged.
Can I un-flag something I reported by mistake?
Yes. If you flagged something in the heat of the moment and change your mind, you can retract the report.
Does flagging something hide it right away?
Not from one report. If 10+ members flag the same piece of content, it gets automatically hidden pending review. One flag alone won't take something down.
Can I block another member?
Yes. Blocking stops that person from viewing your profile, messaging you, or interacting with your content. It's separate from flagging, flagging reports content to us, blocking just removes that person from your experience.
Is my flag anonymous?
The person or content you report won't see who flagged them. Our moderation team can see it internally so we can follow up if needed.

All Access: How Rewards Work on We The Loud
Welcome to All Access, the rewards program that pays you for showing up loud. Post, comment, and back the creators you love, and you stack Decibels. The louder you get, the more you unlock.
What do I earn?
You earn one thing across We The Loud: Decibels. They are your points, your status, and your spending power rolled into one. Decibels build your level, sit on your profile next to your batches, and buy you rewards with participating vendors (or us). Kinda like Aeroplan, Scene, Air Miles, etc.
How do I earn Decibels?
There are multiple ways to earn and build up Decibels. Here's just a few things you can do to get started. We'll be updating these as we grow add vendors and new features.
Most actions carry a cooldown and a daily cap, so nobody games the system at 3am. Buying, selling, and reviewing pay out once the marketplace opens. Until then, earn through everything else on the list.

What are the different levels?
Every member climbs the same ladder. The higher you get, the more you unlock.

What are Patches?
Patches are badges you earn for milestones, and you wear them on your profile like you sewed them onto a battle vest. Some you grind for and a few, like Day One Crew, you can never earn again once they are gone.
There's plenty to chase: Mic Check, First Word, Heckler, Crowd Surfer, Maker, Lurker No More, Plugged In, MVP, Lifer, Founder's Circle and more.

How do I redeem my Decibels for stuff?
1,000 Decibels equals 1 Coin in rewards. No hidden math, no moving the goalposts.
When the marketplace opens, you'll be able to cash in your coins for discounts and more from participating vendors or us.

The Marketplace is where We The Loud stops being just a another community with a feed and starts being a niche socialized shop. This is where Creators open storefronts, sell to the community, and build a name for themselves outside of Etsy’s fee structure and Instagram’s algorithm roulette. It’s not live yet, but it’s coming, and this page covers how Creator profiles and reviews work as we build toward launch. Bookmark it. We’ll update it the second stores go live.
Member Types & Becoming a Creator
What does becoming a Creator actually do right now?
It flags your profile as shop-ready for when the marketplace opens. Vendor stores aren't live yet. We're building the community first, then flipping on stores once there's real traction here. Read more on that in our roadmap update.
Will my Creator status carry over automatically when stores launch?
Yes. If you've set yourself to Creator, you won't have to redo anything when store setup opens.
Can I be both a Member and a Creator?
We wanted to keep things simple. Think of it as one or the other for now, Personal or Vendor is the setting behind the scenes, showing as Member or Creator on your profile. You can switch between them, but you're not running both identities at once.
Reviews
Can members review each other?
Right now, review is limited to Creator profiles only. If someone's set up as a Creator, other logged-in members can leave a rating and short review on their profile.
Is this the same as a verified purchase review?
No, and this is worth understanding now so it's not confusing later. What's live today is a general reputation review, anyone can leave one on a Creator's profile, no purchase required. When the marketplace opens, we're adding a second, separate review type tied to actual verified purchases through the shop. The two will sit side by side on Creator profiles, general reputation and purchase-verified feedback. We're keeping them separate on purpose so one doesn't get diluted by the other.
Can I review my own profile?
No. The system blocks self-reviews.
Do I need to be logged in to leave a review?
Yes. Visitors who aren't logged in can read reviews but can't post them.
Can someone leave more than one review on the same profile?
Not by default. At the moment it's one review per member, per profile.
Will I get notified if someone reviews me?
Yes, you'll get a notification when a review lands on your profile.
