We ship updates every few weeks, and from now on you’ll find the rundown here on my new blog and emailed to you as an announcement if you’re a member.
New on we the loud
- Push notifications. Replies, DMs and mentions should now hit your phone or desktop the second they happen. Say yes when your browser asks and you’re set.
- Sign in with Google fix. One tap, no password to forget. Your current login still works.
- Member blogs. Got more to say than a post can hold? Start a blog on your profile. Tour diaries, thoughts, cosplay build notes, commentaries, etc. LiveJournal energy, minus the 2004 mood music (unless you want that – looking at you, Millennials).
- Events. The calendar is live. Find shows and meetups near you, and add your own.
- Explore got a glow-up. Event cards now show the date, venue and cover art up front, and patches finally show off their artwork.
fixed and tuned
- Connect with someone and you now follow each other automatically. One handshake, not two.
- Changed your profile photo? It updates right away now instead of clinging to the old one.
- Better contrast across the site, so text reads easier for everyone, especially on smaller screens and for anyone with low vision.
- New comments, votes and edits show up instantly.
- Mentions no longer tag people as “null” when suggestions load slowly. Apologies to everyone who briefly became null.
- Poll results now display correctly for everyone.
- Dates and times line up properly across the site.
- Notification emails got a cleanup. Shorter, clearer, and they finally look like us.
- New members now get a welcome email series that shows them around.
Coming up
- Marketplace. The big one. Canadian makers, artists and vendors selling direct to you at a flat 5% fee. We’re well past halfway.
- Event ticketing. Buy tickets right from the event page.
- Stories. 24-hour posts with a “seen by” list.
Want to watch it come together? Follow the roadmap.
Found a bug?
Email support@wetheloud.com with what happened, where it happened, and what device you were on. Screenshots help a ton. I read every one.
What should we build after the marketplace? Drop it in the comments.
Stay loud,
Joey
